Project Description:

Hagargundagi is a small Village in Kalaburagi District of Karnataka State, India. It comes under Hagargundagi Panchayath. It is located 25 km towards South from District headquarters Kalaburagi, and. 655 km from State capital Bangalore.Hagargundagi is surrounded by Jevargi Taluk towards: South, Wadi Taluk towards East, Chitapur Taluk towards East, Afzalpur Taluk towards west.

The Bhima River (also known as Chandrabhaga River) is a major river in Western India and South India. It flows southeast for 861 kilometres through MaharashtraKarnataka, and Telangana states, before entering the Krishna River.

In this project water lift from Bhima River to fill the Hagargundi tank in Hagargundagi village of Kalaburgi district i.e is 0.2210 cumecs (7.805 cusecs) of water. It consists of Jack well cum pump house near Hagargundagi village to accommodate Vertical Turbine Pumps 1 Working with 1 Standby by pumping water for 22 hours a day for 90 days in a year during the rainy season. The capacity of the pump is 330 HP (1 Working + 1 Stand by). The total water requirement for the scheme is 51.311 mcft. Also, it is irrigate a land of 100 acres of cultivation of Hagargundagi village and Kawalga B.

The intake location is Left Bank of Bhima River Near Hagargundagi village Kalaburgi District,
