Client:

M/S Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Limited

Project Description:

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemical Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, is planning to set up a second-generation ethanol production plant in Harihara taluk, Davangere district. The 2G Ethanol plant requires around 3000 KLPD of water to the plant on daily basis throughout the year for the operation of plant. The Government of Karnataka has allotted 3000 KLPD of water from Tungabhadra River to MRPL subject to approval by the Water Resource Department of Karnataka. Consequently, MRPL had requested the Water Resource Department for approval of the allocation of water from Tungabhadra River. The Water Resource Department informed MRPL to submit a Detailed Project Report finalizing the proposal of lifting the required water from Tungabhadra in order to approve the water allocation.

This present proposal intends to prepare a Detailed Feasibility Report to finalise the offtake point and pipeline alignment from the river to the plant to fulfill the daily demand of 3000 KLPD for MRPL’s 2G Ethanol Plant in Mahajenahalli Village, Harihara Taluk, Davangere district on technical and economic merits. Also, the report studies the dependable yield in the river so that the water requirement of the plant can be met all through the year.
