Mekedatu Detail Project Report

Karnataka intends to carry out Survey Investigation and preparation of Designs, Drawings, Estimates and Detailed Project Report, assisting the client in obtaining various statutory approvals including CWC and CEA to build a reservoir across river Cauvery near Mekedatu in Kanakapura taluk with an intention to release the required quantum of water to Tamil Nadu on monthly basis ( in a normal year) and utilizing the addition 4.75 TMC of water ( as per the modified allocation in CWDT Award by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India) to provide drinking water supply to Bengaluru Metropolitan Region. By the implementation of this project, nearly 400 MW of renewable energy annually can be harnessed by utilizing the fall in the natural bed profile of the Cauvery River up to the State border from the monthly releases mandated.

The Consultant with its JV partner M/s E I Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru is responsible for Survey, Investigation, preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) and assisting CNNL in obtaining approvals from various statutory bodies including extending its support during implementation of the project.
