Project Description:

Shirthadi is village located near Moodabidri  Taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, India. Moodabidri  is nearest town to Shirthadi for all major economic activities, which is approximately 10 km away. The project area is located near to Western Ghats Forest.

The Project is located at Pape in Shirthadi Village of Moodabidri Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District. The Geographical coordinate of the proposed location is Latitude: 13° 3’10.89″N Longitude: 75° 4’45.00″E.

The Bridge cum Vented dam will act as a storage structure and can be used for fulfilling Irrigation and Road connectivity. The Length of the Bridge cum Vented Dam is 81.60 m. It stores the water within the banks with the help of stop log gate including all lifting arrangements The storage of Water due to construction of dam is 12.370 Mcft.The length of water stored is 3300 m in which Steam-01 length of water is 2500m & stream -02 is 800 m. The number of vents is 22, number of main pier 10 and dummy pier is 11.is the catchment area at the site location is 173.317 sq. km.

The Project site is approachable by road and is located in between Mangaluru and Dakshina Kannada. The project sites including river locations are accessible by road by NH 73The cost of the proposed Bridge cum Vented dam works out to be Rs.997.20 lakhs.
